KewSide/Bugler liaison

A regular liaison meeting between Regatta Point resident reps. , Thameside Row reps. and Bugler took place on Monday the 8th June 2015 at Bugler’s site Office.

In attendance Martyn Brooks (Bugler), Stephanie Henderson-Brown, David Nightingale (Regatta Point), Mark Fullalove & Liz Morton (Thames Row)

Joint issues
Dust is a persistent problem, especially during concreting, with dust and mortar deposited on vehicles.  As most concreting is now completed this should be less of an issue going forward
Loud radios, shouting, swearing etc by contractors on site continues to be an issue
MB has promised to improve on this.

Thames Row Issues:
Thames Row Boundary Wall
Works will commence within next 2-3 weeks
MB will provide one weeks notice to move plants, as agreed
Hoarding will be maintained where possible to reduce dust and noise transfer
New-built part of wall closest to river may limit access to side entrance while the footings/lower parts are completed
Problem with mortar residue in TR side alley discussed: MB promised to instigate daily inspection/cleaning.

42 KBR Planting Plan
MB to discuss planting in the adjacent beds with LM when the site planting commences

Electrical works- Thames path
MB advised that a gully had been incorporated in the design to enable the electrical cables for the boats to be placed underground, but advised that Bugler would not be doing these works.

Regatta Point Issues:

Shared Wall RP/42 KBR
New insulation discussed:MB advised that this extended beyond the car park entrance i.e. above level of SHB’s flat.  SHB mentioned that it was her understanding that the wall to be rebuilt was in beige/buff brick, similar to new buildings.  This is mentioned in the scaffold licence (SHB to provide copy).  MB believes this wall is to be built in red engineering brick, same as Thames Row.

Perimeter Wall damage
As per SHBs photos and emails
SHB and MB went after meeting for visual inspection
MB agreed to reinstate all brickwork to a professional standard

Void between RP & 42KBR
DN asks for clarification on insulation between the two buildings
See shared wall point above for ground/1st floor.  There is then a clear void (circa 300mm) up to the top floor: this requires design clarification as per point below.

Build Design Detail
Detail of join between RP & 42KBR at top floor level needs to be clarified.  MB advised that there was currently no detail for this, but that he was pursuing this.  Will most likely be a timber beam covered with cladding (same as roof detail).  MB to provide this detail to SHB, once agreed, so the RP director’s can take a view on whether this detail is acceptable.
Balcony Screens
MB confirmed to DN that the glass balcony privacy screens would now be 3 metres high, with square edges.

Tree protection
MB advised that some road plates would soon be removed, meaning the lorries would operate further from the tree.
