Bikes, Boxes and BBQs (and Parking)

A few seasonal reminders and a couple of updates about!

BBQs on the balconies are strictly forbidden (obvious fire risk at the balconies are wood AND its inconsiderate to neighbours).

We will be buying new ‘proper” BBQs for use on the lawn areas – available via the caretaker once we have bought them. NB:Don’t use disposable BBQs on the lawns as they burn the grass.

Bike theft and beggars are back in the area. PLEASE don’t allow tailgating at the pedestrian doors and at the garage gates PLEASE wait a few seconds when entering or leaving the car park to check no one is slipping in behind you/ tailgating.

Boxes: Cardboard boxes should be collapsed before placing in the recycling bin – its simple courtesy to all the other users. And PLEASE empty them – food waste, plastic bubble wrap//plastic bags and bits of metal are NOT CARDBOARD. Our Councillor tells us being Inconsiderate is NOT being Eco Friendly.

Parking: The NO PARKING signs are being replaced outside our garage entrance. Note: We are advised the parking wardens (officially the council calls them CEOs) are starting back on more frequent patrol.

Michael our caretaker is back. Remember Social Distancing!

We are pleased to welcome Michael back today.

A reminder that its NOT business as usual with the sauna area and guest rooms closed.

Please maintain social distancing with Michael and note that no one is allowed in his office when he is in there. Conversations should take place at a safe distance – for example in the lobby.

New Director

It is with much pleasure that we are able to announce that Alan Kohn is joining the Board of Regatta Point (Freehold) Limited as a Director.

Since just before Stephanie Henderson-Brown retired, the existing Directors have been looking to recruit a new Board member to share the workload and plan for succession.

The issue was raised at the Annual Residents’ Meeting and was accompanied by emails and pigeonhole drops. This campaign successfully garnered interest from Owners and Residents alike.

Please join us in welcoming Alan on board but, please be gentle with him, as he’s only just started!

Michael return to work Tuesday 26th May 2020

The Directors are pleased to inform you that our caretaker Michael will return to work from furlough on Tuesday next week (Monday being a bank holiday).

To reassure residents, prior to returning to work Michael will complete a health questionnaire and on his arrival on Tuesday at Regatta Point the questionnaire will be repeated and his temperature taken. On Tuesday he will arrive at 10am to ensure he is able to travel when the public transport is less crowded.

It will not be business as usual when Michael returns and we ask all owners and residents to be aware of some necessary protocols and actions.

Social distancing with the caretaker must be maintained according to government guidelines. No one should enter the caretakers office for any reason.

The sauna/steam room (including toilet and showers) and the guest rooms will remain closed until safe to re-open. In this regard we will continue to follow and be guided by government advice for gyms & health clubs. The sauna area toilet is still being used- this must stop.

The caretaker is provided with disposable face masks (primarily for travel), disposable gloves and hand sterilizer gel. During the next weeks the focus of the caretaker will be on the hygiene and safety of the building.

The situation is evolving and will remain under regular review. In the immediate term we will be reviewing any necessary change in travel times and tasks that pose a risk to residents or the caretaker. If you have suggestions or concerns please feel free to respond to this e-mail.

Note: the works on the waste water pipe (subject of the previous announcement) will now take place next week.

Foul Water Pipe Repairs

There is a foul water drainage pipe in the car park above car parking space
13, which is severely corroded and needs to be replaced. The work will take
place this week, and will probably take about 1 hour.

During this time we would ask residents in Blocks C and D to refrain from
flushing their toilets, washing, or taking baths or showers.
We will come round and notify you when exactly this time is.
Thanking you in advance for your co-operation.
