Date for your diary

Please make a note in your diary that the Annual Residents’ Briefing is scheduled to take place on Tuesday the 11th of December at 19:30 in the lobby.

The Directors will recap 2018 and look forward to events in 2019 and take any questions that people attending might have.  Major topics will include the state of our finances, significant increases in running costs, security and of course the windows project.

Please try and come along as they are usually very informative and social sessions.  As a bribe we will be offering a little light refreshment afterwards for those who wish to hang around.

Windows Project Update

As RP Owners know from the Section 20 letters they have received – the Directors are commissioning a project to replace the roadside residential windows at Regatta Point and to refurbish some riverside windows and the roadside elevation rooftop.  We are now at the point where the bills will be issued so that we can raise the funds to commission the contractors.

We thought it was a good point in time to make widely available to proposed design and all of the background documents.

Therefore, we have created a display in the lobby of Regatta Point so that you can see the new windows in detail.  Accompanying this display is a folder containing hard copies of many important documents such as surveyors report, legal advice and planning permission so that you can have access to all of the background documents that have been produced to date.

All the material is reproduced electronically on the RP website on the new page “Windows Project”.  So, please take some time out to visit the lobby or the website to review the information.

Any  quick questions can be asked of our Caretaker, Michael if you are in the lobby.  If you wish to ask a question more formally or express your views in favour or against please email directors@regattapoint.co.uk

Over the next week we will also be sending out an informal letter containing the estimated bill for individual flats.  Michael has this information available upon request.

At this time, we do not have the fine detail of the project such as any need to access flats, the timetable, how we will treat secondary glazing etc.  This will be defined once a contractor has been engaged.

For now, we wish all Owners to understand the proposal and to have asked any questions and raised any concerns they have – before we formally commission any work.

With regret

It is with great regret that the Directors have to announce the resignation of Michael O’Neil as our Caretaker at Regatta Point.

Everyone who has had the  pleasure of meeting Michael will know how much enthusiasm and professionalism he has bought to the role, let alone improvements to the levels of service offered to owners and residents alike.  However, Michael has decided to move on to pastures new and his last day will be Friday the 24th of August.

In the meantime, the Directors have been interviewing and have selected Michael Mitsinga to join us as our new Caretaker – to start on Monday the 20th of August, which will allow a one week handover.

Please join us in wishing Michael O’Neil all the best for the future and in welcoming Michael Mitsinga into his new role.
