I hope you have read the formal notice informing that we have applied for a grant under the cladding safety scheme.

We will give more details of the background to this at the Residents Briefing on the 10th December but as previously advised Regatta Point is high enough to be caught by a lot of new post-Grenfell legislation.

One of the many assessments  has required us to replace the wooden balconies to all flats, this is a mandatory expenditure so the directors have been looking to place the burden on the original developers or contractors. Unfortunately due to some fancy legal footwork by the developers this avenue looks unlikely.

David Brown , the chair of the residents committee,  has been leading all this work and has identified the cladding safely scheme as another potential route , while not guaranteed, it is also not as long a shot as the name may suggest.

If David does manage to secure us a grant he will have saved Regatta Point a significant sum so I am sure you will join me in wishing him luck in his endeavours.  (You may also want to give him a mince pie on the 10th)

This note is to inform you that RPFL have commenced an application for grant funding under the Government funded Cladding Safety Scheme for the replacement of timber balconies on the rear of the building.

Application Start Date: 5th November 2024

Next Steps: After the completion of the application we will then need to wait for confirmation that the works will be eligible for the Scheme. We will update you when this is known.
