Directors’ Meeting 15th September 2015

The Directors of Regatta Point Freehold Limited met for a regular meeting in order to discuss various matters arising in the running of the building. The following are highlights of the discussions.

Representatives from HML Shaw were present.

  • Fire Enforcement Notice – tender for work to be carried out to comply with notice due back at end of September. Exceptional bill to be issued to residents, which is expected to be significant.
  • Internal decorations – Sauna work due to complete soon which allows progress on other items.
  • Caretaker phone – Neil now has a landline with message facilities and a signal booster in office so should be completely contactable.
  • HML Shaw service levels – poor service levels were discussed and a better understanding of what RPFL pays for was obtained. Improvements are anticipated once fire works are out of the way.
  • Service charges for 15/16 were discussed – especially significant insurance premium increase that is anticipated following the fire. Reluctantly directors agreed to 9% increase.

Walk & Talk

It is one of the pleasures of being a Director of Regatta Point that once a month we walk around the whole complex with our caretaker, Neil, in order to see for ourselves the state of the building close-up and to talk about any issues that we find.  We call this a Walk & Talk.  It allows us some quality time with Neil and to get into all the nooks and crannies of RP.

The Directors would like as many residents as possible to see the building from top to bottom for themselves and to get to see the Directors and Caretaker at work.

The next Walk & Talk is on Thursday the 13th of August at 09:00 in the lobby.  If you would like to join us – two places are to be provided on a first come first served basis and they are reserved by emailing webadmin@regattapoint.co.uk

We hope to see you there.

Car park break in

We’re sorry to have to report that last night, at approximately 02:30, someone broke into the car park and stole from two cars.  The police have been informed and our cctv checked.

It is also the case that one of the owners had left a car park gate transmitter in their car and the burglar took this with them.  This now means that we must change the code on all of the transmitters with immediate effect.   The gates have already been re-coded so you can no longer get in or out using the old code.  In order to re-programme your transmitter, unscrew the back of the fob and move the small switches into the up or down position as instructed.  The new code can be obtained from Neil , our caretaker, who has kindly re-arranged his family life in order to make himself available at the gates late into this evening. Neil’s mobile number is 07957 355 018.

We can not stress enough that resident should NOT LEAVE THEIR CAR PARK TRANSMITTERS IN THEIR CARS.

We are sorry for all the inconvenienced caused.

Fix-it Form

In order to help residents report problems the website has been updated to include a “fix-it form”.  This is in addition to being to emailing the caretaker directly and is a simple form on the right-hand side of the menu where you can detail what needs fixing in order to log the problem.
