Residents’ Briefing Summary

Thank you to all those who attended the Annual Residents’ Briefing on the 13th of December.  It was a great opportunity for the Directors to get some feedback and for ideas to be exchanged.

The main actions that were noted are:

  • The window design needs to be kept simple and the vertical design is preferred
  • The windows project as a whole needs to keep a tight rein on costs
  • Can we explore the costs of improving the ventilation in the gym refurbishment
  • Can we explore the idea of a small fridge and/or tea making facilities in the guest rooms

A copy of the slides that were presented can be found here…

Residents Briefing December 2016 v7

Silence is golden

As the final part of the external refurbishment works the Guest Rooms have had some major improvements made to them.  There were two complaints often cited by users of the rooms – that they were cold and that they were noisy.  Well, as a result of better insulation and brand new double glazing we are pleased to be able to report that they Guest Rooms are significantly warmer and definitely quieter.  In fact they are now some of the quietest rooms in the building!

If you ask Neil nicely he may even show you around 😉

Remember that they are available to hire by any resident for a small fee when your own flat is bursting at the seams.

“Christmas” Trees

Regatta Point has had some “Christmas” Trees delivered today in order to replace the overgrown shrubbery that was taken out during the re-decorations over this Summer.

Western Planter with new plants   Eastern Planter with new plants
As part of the deal to allow the crane to use Regatta Point’s airspace Michael Crump (Chairman) negotiated for St George’s to pay for new plants to go in the two planters on the roadside of the building.  The two thousand pounds worth of planing was completed today and, as you can see from the pictures, it has spruced up the front of Regatta Point splendidly.
