St George’s liaison meeting – May 2014

The following are minutes from the regular meeting between St George’s and RPFL.

MINUTES FROM MEETING BETWEEN REGATTA POINT &  ST GEORGE’S ON 16TH MAY 2014

ATTENDEES:
George Cross (Regatta Point Freehold Limited Director), Sean Chappell (St. George’s Project Director) and Malcolm Wood (St. George’s Land Director).

APOLOGISES:
Mo Bowyer (Regatta Point Resident),

MINUTES: (StG = St George’s RP= Regatta Point)

Work progressing well. Excavation for C1 imminent. Pile driving will be necessary to form protective wall around perimeter. Should not cause too much disturbance.

Block D (next to Regatta) & E – party wall agreement imminent as all work to explore ground has been completed. A lot of unexpected services were found and the local utility companies have been re-laying gas and electric.

StG assured that the next phase will be sprayed properly when required but soil is expected to be damp as below the water table. Regatta Point will be in contact if we require action over the dust levels.

Major issue of co-ordination of StG building work on block D and RP requirement to carry out works to strengthen Eastern wall. StG have determined the floor levels of each building and it will be possible to get contractors on site at StG as each floor is built in order to carry out Helifix remedial works to Regatta Point Eastern Wall. RP expressed their gratitude.

StG offered potential suppliers for RP roadside window tender.

StG have been in discussions with Hounslow Council over the implementation of gates at either end of RP/StG boarder. The council have agreed to the proposal.

Entire duration of development expected to last in to 2016.

Next meeting for Friday 13th June at 08:30

St George’s liaison meeting – March 2014

On Friday the 14th of March George Cross (Director RPFL), Mo Bowyer (Regatta Point resident), Malcolm Wood (St. George’s Land Director) and Sean Chappell (St. George’s Snr. Construction Manager) held one of their regular liaison meetings – the aim of which is for Regatta Point to raise any issues with the development next door and for St George’s to keep us abreast with progress.

The following are highlights of the meeting:

  • Excavations for groundwork on block next to RP are due to start soon and will require the temporary closure of the footpath at times.  The white portacabins will be removed.
  • Pile driving will cause vibrations, which are disturbing, but should not cause damage.
  • Prior to this soil will be removed for the excavations – water should be sprayed on during this time to minimise dust.
  • Co-ordination between StG and RPFL will be arranged via our surveyors in order to facilitate the work that is to be carried out on the Eastern wall of Regatta Point.
  • StG have proposed installing gates at either end of the public pathway along the Eastern wall that would be locked at night.  St George’s have now formally submitted the proposal with Hounslow Council with the support of Regatta Point.
  • The Fullers pub will be now opening in mid-Summer.
  • Entire development not expected to finish until 2016.
  • Next meeting 08:30 on Friday 11th April 2014.

“Christmas” Trees

Regatta Point has had some “Christmas” Trees delivered today in order to replace the overgrown shrubbery that was taken out during the re-decorations over this Summer.

Western Planter with new plants   Eastern Planter with new plants
As part of the deal to allow the crane to use Regatta Point’s airspace Michael Crump (Chairman) negotiated for St George’s to pay for new plants to go in the two planters on the roadside of the building.  The two thousand pounds worth of planing was completed today and, as you can see from the pictures, it has spruced up the front of Regatta Point splendidly.

St. George’s Liaison Meeting

On Friday the 13th of December Stephanie Henderson-Brown (Director RPFL), Malcolm Wood (St.

  • Groundwork on Block E, next to RP, will start on the 3rd of February and last up to 22 weeks and will require the temporary closure of the footpath at times.  Pile driving will cause vibrations, which are disturbing, but should not cause damage.
  • Co-ordination between StG and RPFL will be arranged via our surveyors in order to facilitate any work that is to be carried out on the Eastern wall of Regatta Point.
  • StG have proposed installing gates at either end of the public pathway along the Eastern wall that would be locked at night.  MW has discussed the proposal with Hounslow Council planning officer who broadly supports the idea (as do RPFL). StG to submit formal request.
  • Work on the boat club pontoon has been delayed due to the river conditions.
  • The Fullers pub will be now opening in May/June.
  • The organic butcher will be re-locating from Strand on the Green to a retail unit.
  • The plants that StG are paying for will be installed in the RP roadside planters on 19.12.13.

St George’s liaison meeting

On Friday the 18th of October George Cross (Director RPFL), Mo Bowyer (RP resident), Malcolm Wood (St.

  • Late nigh working to polish concrete will not be carried out any more following a raft of complaints about noise.
  • Groundwork on Block E, next to RP, will start in January.  Pile driving will cause vibrations.
  • RP Directors are still waiting on the surveyors report as to the state of the Eastern wall.
  • StG have proposed installing gates at either end of the public pathway along the Eastern wall that would be locked at night.  RP Directors would support this in principle.  StG to develop the idea more with the council.
  • A lot of discussion around dust. StG believe it will reduce going forward as no demolition left and very little excavation.
  • Work has started on the Thames pontoon and is expected to last 6 weeks.
  • Pub anticipated to open in April 2014 – woop!
  • Organic butcher has shown interest in moving into retail unit.
  • Directors  yet to decide on which plants to place in front planters that StG are paying for.
  • Next meeting Friday 13th December.
