Car Park Works

PLEASE READ – MAY REQUIRE IMMEDIATE ACTION.

Wednesday 21st – Fri 30th August

Between Wednesday 21st and Friday 30th August contractors from EVC will be on site to install the main cabling for the car park EV chargers.

To protect residents cars from damage it will be necessary for car spaces to be kept clear during the working day, 1-2 days at a time between 8:00am and 4:00pm. This will affect 10-18 spaces at a time as per the schedule below.

This is logistically difficult and the only sensible way we can see this working is for people to be able to park randomly elsewhere in the car park during the hours their space is out of use.

If you do have a spare space because you are out at work or don’t regularly use it would be great if it could be offered to others during these periods, please notify on the the WhatsApp group.

Please respond if:

  • If you are UNABLE to move your car during the listed period (i.e. because you are away) please respond.
  • You are NOT willing to allow others to park wherever there is a space free for the day they have to clear their area?

The schedule that we currently have is (and this may change slightly for the second week as they seem to have forgotten that Monday 26th is a Bank Holiday):

Wednesday 21st August Bays 58-64 & 87-91

Thursday 22nd August Bays 69-86 &

Friday 23rd August Bays 51-63

Reminder: EV Charging

Further to the communication about the EV charging infrastructure being installed in our car park, this is a reminder to all who are interested in having a charging point attached to their car space to email evs@regattapoint.co.uk  with your Contact Details, Flat No. and Car Park Space before they begin installation next week.

There is a £150 discount on any chargers connected at the same time as the infrastructure is installed.

So don’t delay!

EV CHARGING IN THE CAR PARK

It’s taken a few years, but we have finally managed to arrive at a solution for EV charging in the car park. The infrastructure works comprising the main switchgear, load balancing and comms equipment will shortly be installed by EVC.

On completion this infrastructure work will enable anyone who would like an EV charger to order one from EVC and have it installed and connected to the system. The chargers will be 7kW Type 2, and can be installed at the same time as the infrastructure works or at any time in the future.

The cost is largely covered by a £30k government grant which we have successfully applied for, with the balance being paid by the Freehold company. There is no cost to the service charge.

The cost of the actual charger and its final connection will be the responsibility of the end user, and will vary depending on where the car space is and its distance, and therefore amount of cabling required, from the switchrooms. For guidance this will be between £1250 and £3560.

EVC will look after all billing and maintenance of the system, which will be covered by a monthly fee paid by the users. End users will be directly billed by EVC for the cost of electricity used and the monies returned to Regatta Point.

Note that only the chargers supplied and fitted by EVC are able to be connected to the system.

If you would like a charger installed at the same time as the infrastructure works please email evs@regattapoint.co.uk with your contact details, Flat No and Car Space number so that we can pass your details to the installer. Please note that if you are a tenant you should ask your landlord to do this.
