Last Wednesday 1st of March, in the early evening, we again had an intruder enter the building and take residents parcels from the foyer.
CCTV footage shows that the intruder followed a resident through the front door and then wandered around the foyer area of the building. He then picked up about half a dozen parcels, placed them in one of the two large bags that he was carrying and let himself out of the front door.
If you believe you are missing a parcel as a result of this please let Mark the caretaker know, and report the theft on the Metropolitan Police website where you will receive a crime number.
As a further reminder – leaving parcels in the foyer is not safe. If you are not on hand to take delivery then you should make an alternative arrangement i.e. ask a neighbour to take delivery or use one of the nearby lockers or delivery points.
If you do have a parcel left in the foyer you should collect it as soon as possible.
Please do not open the front door to anyone you don’t know, including anyone who claims to be a courier or delivering food – go down to the front door and collect the parcel if it is for you.
Please also be aware of anyone attempting to follow you in through the front door.
Bicycle Thieves

We have received the message below from our local Online Watch Link concerning the old problem of bicycle thefts:
Dear Watch Member,
We have a very active bicycle thief in the area. Please ensure that your bikes are well locked up especially if you leave your bike in public view. Once stolen not only is it is very hard to retrieve the bike, but if we do we then have to positively identify it, in order to return it to the owner. Please keep a record of the serial number, get it marked, or take photos of it, especially of any identifying features.

Fire Action
The Building Safety Act 2022 came into force in January to put into action some of the lessons learnt from the Grenfell disaster. Our building is subject to this new legislation, and as a result of this you will have seen that new fire signage has gone up and new testing regimes introduced. This is to clarify to residents what they should do in the event of a fire:
If a fire breaks out in your flat:
Leave the room where the fire is straight away, then close the door.
Tell everyone in your flat and get them to leave.
Close the flat entrance door behind you.
Do not stay behind to put the fire out.
Do not use the lift.
Wait outside, away from the building.
Call the fire service – dial 999 or 112.
If you see or hear of a fire in another part of the building:
The building is designed to contain a fire in the flat where it starts.
This means it will usually be safe for you to stay in your flat if the fire is elsewhere.
You must leave immediately if smoke or heat affects your home, or if you are told to leave by the fire service.
Do not use the lift.
If in doubt – get out.
To call the fire service:
Dial 999 or 112.
When the operator answers, give your telephone number and ask for the fire service.
When the fire service reply, give the postcode and address where the fire is.
Do not end the call until the fire service has repeated the address correctly.
Do not assume that someone else has called the fire service – make the call.
Fire Alarms
Smoke or fire in the common parts will activate the fire alarm system and open the smoke vents. There are no manual activation points.
Alarm sounders are only within the common parts, not within the flats.
Smoke detectors in flats are stand alone and are not connected to the common parts system.
The alarm system will not automatically call the fire service.
External Decorations Start Date

We are pleased to announce that the repairs and redecorations to the river side elevation are scheduled to start on 11th April, and take 8 weeks to complete. The works will comprise the replacement of any rotten decking, joists and trellis/fencing, re-sealing of the decking and decoration of flaky or rusting paintwork. It will be carried out by DMC & Son of Greenford.
The building will not be scaffolded as we have tried to limit the amount of work to what is essential, and so access will be needed through your flat to carry out the works – further details will follow nearer the time.
