NEW & MORE DIRECTORS

It is with great pleasure that we are able to announce the appointment of two new Directors to the Board of Regatta Point Freehold Limited.

The existings four have been joined by David Brown (who is in fact returning, having been a Director before) and Fran Black.

Although this brings our numbers to seven we are still in search of more Directors as several of the incumbents wish to retire, having servered some considerable time. So, please consider becoming a Director to help look after our homes here at Regatta. It’s not that hard and your contrbutiuon to decision making will be invaluable.

If you are interested please email directors@regattapoint.co.uk to arrange an informal chat to explain what is involved.

Call for New Directors

Dear Owner,

After many years of service to Regatta Point the current Directors feel it is time to let others take on the mantle of running the Freehold Company. Three of the current incumbents have served on the Board for over 5 years and two of those for over 9, in roles that are not without serious accountability.
We are therefore writing to all Owners asking for people to share this role of being custodians of Regatta Point. We hope that we can form a wider pool of people to draw on – to share the work on a more rotational basis.
The main purpose of being a Director is to look after Regatta Point and therefore to look after your own living place or investment. Most of the day to day work is carried out by the caretaker and the managing agent, HML. Therefore, the most important aspect of being a Director is to commission work to maintain standards, and even improve the environment, so that the building will always look contemporary and loved. If Regatta Point leaves a good impression, then it attracts buyers & renters, whilst at the same time ensuring living here is a pleasure. So, being a Director is in an Owners self-interest. We would, of course, spend time bringing any new (or familiar) Owner up to speed on the roles and responsibilities. We also believe we are in a good position to hand things over as we have no major debts or projects at this moment. We have also recently received a detailed report on the state of the building and a proposal for maintenance for the next ten years which should form the backbone of activities into the future. We therefore invite you to express an interest in stepping up to this opportunity to help. Without volunteers we will, regretfully, be investigating employing a building manager in our stead, with all the service charge costs this involves.

If you are interested please email directors@regattapoint.co.uk

Lockdown

Dear Regatta Point Resident

The Directors of Regatta Point would like to wish you a Happy New Year, but as you will all be aware the national situation at present is dire.  We are now entering another lockdown with new regulations that put a legal responsibility on us all.

Regatta Point is a residence for us, but a place of work for our caretaker, gardeners, cleaners, deliverymen, and workmen that visit the site.  We do have a duty of care towards those that work at Regatta Point.  Accordingly, we are allowing our caretaker to continue working, but have instructed him in enhanced safe work protocols to reflect the new concerns regarding the more contagious form of CoVid19.  Of special importance, he has been advised not to allow any other people into the confines of his office, and to advise that all visitors and residents keep at least 2 metres of social distance from him and wear a mask when speaking to him.  Our caretaker will also ensure that all workmen and non-residents wear a mask when in the public areas of Regatta Point.

As we all share the same home, can we make a plea that residents wear a mask when in the public areas inside, and ensure that only one household at a time travels in the lifts.

We hope that normal cleaning will continue but make no guarantee that everyday surfaces will be germ free, so we advise that you make minimal contact with surfaces, wash hands frequently and or wear disposable gloves. When disposing of gloves or masks, please do so safely in a sealed bag. We have provided hand sanitation points at the entrances.

The sauna, gym, and guest rooms will remain closed to residents, until restrictions are lifted.

Michael’s last working day will be Thursday the 24th (Christmas Eve) and his first working day back will be Monday the 4th of January.
