Corona Virus Update

Dear Residents,
As you are no doubt aware, the Government is asking us to make unprecedented changes to the way we live in order to combat the Corona Virus.
Our contribution is to ask Michael, our Caretaker to stay at home.

None of Michael’s tasks will be carried out and, in particular, regular cleaning will no longer take place. We ask that you tolerate the accumulating dust and do your bit to keep things tidy.

Consequently, and with immediate effect;

If you become ill, follow the latest Government advice, self-isolate, and limit your use of Regatta Point facilities.

The Guest Rooms are closed.

The Sauna is closed and should not be used.

The Gardeners will no longer be attending.

The bins in the car park will be sealed.

We asked that you help the refuge collection by compacting your rubbish (especially the cardboard) as much as possible.

As is standard policy – do not dump any unwanted items in the bin rooms.

GYM
We realise that the gym may be a helpful way to keep fit and de-stress. However, it is an environment that generates a lot of vapour as you exercise. Therefore, at your own risk – only one household at a time should use the gym. If someone else is already in their please wait and try later. Wipe down all the equipment you have used.

GARDENS
The gardens will remain open for Residents to use but please use them within Government restrictions of one exercise session outside per day and keep 2 metres apart.

Managing Agent
HML Shaws are continuing to operate but all are working from home and they are being bombarded with a lot of questions about the current situation so please bear with them.

Meanwhile, at Regatta Point, the Directors are trying to anticipate issues that may arise and we hope you all will be able to contribute by fitting in with the above requests. You are the most powerful tool that we have to defeat this infection.

Thank you for you continued support.

The Directors,
Regatta Point Freehold Limited

With Great Regret

It is with a heavy heart and much regret that we have to announce the resignation of
Stephanie Henderson-Brown as a Director of Regatta Point Freehold Limited.

This was not an easy decision for Steph. The other Directors would like to thank her warmly for her eleven years of dedicated service to Regatta Point, for the countless hours of work, her passion to get things done right and for the energy and enthusiasm she brought to the table when the rest of us were flagging.

Steph has kindly agreed to stay on as our Garden Consultant with the very public responsibility of continuing to make sure the gardens are a pleasure to look out upon every day.

We hope you will join us in wishing Steph all the very best for the future.

If there are any budding replacement Directors out there we would love to hear from you at
directors@regattapoint.co.uk

This is not always a job for the feint hearted but it is a great way to look after your home and to ensure it is a pleasant place to live. We’ve even written a job description …

Annual Residents Meeting Slides

Thank you to all who managed to attend the Annual Residents’ Meeting on the 11th of December. We hope you found it useful.

We attach the slides that were used at the meeting as a reminder to those who attended and for information for those who were unable to attend.

At the meeting we mentioned asking if anyone was interested in becoming a Director in order to share the considerable workload. We attach the Job Description as promised. Please email directors@regattapoint.co.uk to express your interest or ask any questions.

The Directors – Regatta Point Freehold Limited

Remember Remember the 11th of December

Just a quick note to remind all owners and residents that the Annual Residents’ Meeting is taking place at 7pm on Wednesday the 11th of December in the lobby of Regatta Point where the Directors will be reviewing last year’s activities and looking forward to the next. Please join us for the briefing, questions & answer sessions and drinks and nibbles afterwards.

Looking forward to seeing you there.

The Directors Regatta Point Freehold Limited.

Up, Down and Sideways….and a bit of consideration please!

UP! :The Regatta Point Christmas tree will be going UP soon – target is wc 9th December. We hope you will enjoy the cheery (very low energy) lights on these darker nights!

DOWN! : The roadside scaffolding will start to come down this week. Thanks to a very cooperative scaffolding company we have been able to use it for a few extra days to install new pigeon spikes and clear the gutters on the front elevation. Some limited scope (its expensive!) work has now been contracted for the gutters on the riverside elevation – this is targeted on some known issues where the downpipes appear blocked.

SIDEWAYS! : We hope you noticed the pier has been cleaned by Mark our ever helpful cleaning contractor. Obvious it improves the look of the pier but also removes moss and lichen which may make it slippery in wet weather. Users are reminded that the pier may still be slippery in wet or icy weather and use of the pier is at their own risk.

CONSIDERATION! : A reminder that this is a community and we depend on residents cooperating to keep the building safe and clean. Please take a moment when entering the pedestrian doors to challenge anyone you don’t know from following you into the building, and when entering or leaving the car park try to wait 5 seconds at the garage gates to deter loiterers from entering the car park.

CONSIDERATION! : Also please leave common facilities like the gym and sauna area as you would expect to find them. A reminder that the GYM is NOT open 24/7 and “out of hours” use is very unfair on the flats neighbouring the gym: the gym hours are 07.30am -10pm except Sundays when the hours are 10am – 9pm. Music volume should always be considerate.
