New fencing
Following on from a couple of bicycle thefts from the car park the Directors decided that security would be improved by installing high trellis fencing along the full length of the eastern wall at Regatta Point. In the past this was defended by the trees that grew on the St George’s land along the wall but these were cut down as part of the re-development. We had hoped the security gates at each end would help but the have proved ineffective.
We can never fully secure the site and one of the most common ways that people get in is by following cars in when the main gates are open. Therefore, we would like to remind you to keep an eye out for such tail gating.

A New New Caretaker
We are sorry to have to inform you that due to family matters our caretaker, Paulo, has had to resign in order to return to Portugal urgently. As a result, we have been interviewing for a replacement caretaker over the last few days.
On the other-hand, we are happy to inform you that the successful candidate is Michael O’Neil, who applied for the role after being sent to Regatta Point as an emergency replacement for Paulo. Consequently, many of you may have already met Michael or seen him at work.
If you haven’t had the chance, please introduce yourself you Michael and make him welcome.

Gym re-opened
We are pleased to be able to inform you that the gym has re-opened following the delay caused by unforeseen (and budgeted) work and the lead-time on ordering the new floor.
I hope you will join us in agreeing that the windows, new lights, flooring and decoration have improved the room as has the creation of just a little more space following the removal of the end wall.
We will be replacing the door with one that matches the rest of Regatta Point in the near future but, if those of you that use the gym, could let us know what you think about the equipment and any improvements we could make on that front – please leave a comment in the book on the desk or post a comment on this update.

Keys Found
A set of keys have been found in the gardens of Regatta Point.
They will be with Paulo, our caretaker, from Monday morning for you retrieval – if they are yours.
