Water Leak

As some of you might be aware there was a water leak into the common parts in Block A. This is now under control.

The water did seep into the smoke detector on the first floor and will be replaced once the ceiling dries out.

The Fire Alarm panel in the foyer is showing a fault as a result but will revert once the new detector is fitted. It doesn’t affect the operation of the fire alarm.

Smoke Alarms in Flats

Advice regarding smoke alarms.

When originally built your flat would have had a mains powered smoke alarm installed in its hallway. The expected life of these is around 10 years, and so if you still have the original one it is unlikely to still be effective and should be replaced as soon as possible. Similarly if it was last replaced more than 10 years ago.

The London Fire Brigade now recommend that an alarm is fitted into almost every room within a flat and that they are interlinked so if one is triggered all of the others within the flat go off. Our own Fire Assessor has made the same recommendation, and we strongly advise that you follow their advice.

The London Fire Brigade advice can be viewed here, along with lots of other useful fire safety advice:

Guest Room A refurbishment

Following the updating of the bathroom in Guest Room B, the same is taking place in Guest Room A this week.

These guest rooms are available to be rented for £45/night to residents of Regatta Point for their friends and family.

Uncollected parcels

You are urgently requested to please collect your parcels from the lobby in a timely fashion. There are far too many parcels that lie uncollected for days/weeks.

We have in the past had issues with intruders taking advantage of piles of uncollected parcels and helping themselves.

By not collecting your parcels you add to the likelihood of having things stolen.

Your cooperation would be appreciated.
